Tax From Waste

Tax from the waste (volatile fraction) of crude oil refining, ie petrol, is enormous. A BIG 'earner'. The tax from burning a weed (tobacco) and the hook of the impurity: a class A drug called nicotine. A BIG 'earner'. Tax from (ethyl) alcohol. A BIG 'earner'. Now there is to be a tax on horse manure. Another tax from real waste. I predict that one day there will be a tax on fat - all types of fat, but mainly animal fat. The worst. And what about taxing the very air we breathe? Make it (allegedly) very dirty by society and BIG business causing the problem then society (excluding BIG business) paying to attempt the impossible task of the clear up.

These were in the earlier days before the invention of climate change (terminology, jargon).  Loads of money to be had. But the downside is a very dead human population. The Earth will recover (it has millions and millions and millions and... of years), but without that parasitic human creature.
