Zidane Is Just Misunderstood

So, Zidane has been made man of the 2006 World Cup tournament even after a disgraceful violent assault, whether it was justified or not (off screen). In front of millions of viewers around the world and in front of his own president (Chirac). Shames the French nation.

But then... clearly the message is that since general conduct earlier was fine, this excuses the final act.

Everything is all right then
All is forgiven
Pathetic
Dangerously pathetic
But then, this is football
