Nuclear Power Goes Ahead

Original posting, July 2006
The push for nuclear power has gone ahead to "unveiling plans" this week (09.07.06). This means a fait accompli or something that has already happened and is thus unlikely to be reversed. A done deal.

Update 10.01.08

Nuclear power gets 'clearance' after 18 months to the day, this was slipped through quietly. What someone wants (Blair, but now Brown, and 'friends') they will eventually get. A position of 'superiority'. Just give or take as is required, but usually take. A very favourable scenario if you are the one taking and not giving.

Windscale (Sellafield)

The provision of nuclear simply defers the decision of what to do in 20 years from now. By then the oil supply will be an even bigger problem. Even if there is any. But, make a huge profit now and, anyway, who cares about the future?

Maybe there is more than is communicated. Doesn't really make any difference anyway. The situation is deferred just that little bit longer. Just long enough for the wealthy bastards to enjoy their money that little bit longer. To 'feel' superior over the rest of us. Misguided. It's a fascinating thought what would happen if there were no 'us'. They'd have to squabble over a new pecking order. Actually I find that rather hilarious.

However, start a war and create instability. That usually works.

True figures can be massaged to tell a depressing story to 'soften up' the consumer. But it may not be as bad as it seems. Who do you listen to? Or trust?
