The Paperless Office

Original posting, September 2006

Don't forget the paperless office. It is still being overwhelmed with more and more paper. A lot of it being 'junk' mail. Ironic that a natural resource (trees) is being destroyed to simply send out unwanted junk that only p****s off many. And does nothing except help reduce the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere.

Trees like any vegetation breathe in CO2 and output O2. Air breathing creatures include reptiles, insects and mammals (humans, apes, whales etc) and are just organisms that consume this essentially toxic gas. A breathable life-supporting atmosphere is a complex mixture of gases. Oxygen is critical to mammalian survival and the CO2 is removed and replaced by vegetation. One of the topics of global 'talk' is the amount of CO2 in the air we breathe and yet we reduce the number of trees - the 'lungs of the Earth'.
