Brown, Gordon: Exit Strategy

Ministerial Revelations Keep Coming Ministers At The Trough Of Contempt The (New, Old) Labour government continues to charge towards success at a high speed. The goal has allegedly always been the ultimate destruction of the UQ (aka UK) Ltd. And it has done (and continues) to do a fine job. The country is bankrupt (unofficially) like most other 'economies' and has been led there by Brown: ‘the best Chancellor we ever had’. The British parliamentary system is in tatters, although all parties have made their contribution. Labels Meltdown Begins Clearly, the end has been reached and that marks the success with the goal being achieved. This is demonstrated by MPs and ministers caught with their hands in the till before it closes: the classic death knell of any government, but never before in such a single-finger salute. The contempt that they have shown towards the British people who placed them in positions of power and access to finance is absolute. These people are ruined by their own stupidity, complacency and arrogance. The trappings of greed. The inept soldiers (MPs, ministers) have played their part like the hapless novices they are in a game far above their understanding. They have all been 'stung' and remain totally unaware of the part they have played in the downfall of the system they have milked. They can consider their own meteoric downfall from the wilderness where they belong. Alistair Darling (another chancellor of the exchequer) is a minister acting within the rules and milking the system. This sets a tremendously good example to those who avoid tax or who will now attempt avoidance - legally, even though (arguably) morally deficient. Until now. Evasion of tax is (technically) illegal, but avoidance is quite within the rules. Thank you Darling for setting us all straight and how we should all behave:
  • Darling switched the property designated as his "second home" four times in four years. Originally, a small flat in London was named as the main residence, allowing Darling to use the second home allowance on property in Edinburgh. This can not be construed as somewhere to live while on official business in London. In September 2005, Edinburgh was named as his first home transferring the second home allowance to London. A flat near the Oval (cricket ground) was purchased (£226,000) and taxpayers paid the stamp duty (£2,260) and legal fees (£1,238). Additionally, some £9,500 settled the furnishing bill. Becoming chancellor of the exchequer, 11 Downing Street became the second home. This was changed back to Edinburgh within months as the second home when £1200 a month council tax and mortgage has since been paid by the taxpayer.
"All within House of Commons rules"
Alistair Darling
Allegedly
  • Some show integrity and do NOT have an 'uncontrollable urge' to follow this depressing approach to conduct in public life.
Caroline Flint (ex-Minister of State for Housing and Planning) sets another fine example of how to live the existence of the parasite. Amassing money through expenses 'within the rules', while pontificating about the tough luck of those experiencing repossessions. The hypocrisy is stomach churning. It's enough to make anyone seriously ill with an absolute loathing for these 'elected' individuals who live at the bottom of a (second, third, fourth... home) pit. Such examples of standards. Currently, Minister of State for Europe (since 3rd October 2008). Almost 6 months later, on 31 March 2009, Flint admitted that she has not even read the Lisbon Treaty, the controversial document which codifies the rules of the European Union. Critics described her admission as "extraordinary" and "unbelievable", particularly given that the minister's responsibilities include overseeing the introduction of the Treaty.
Who knows, Flint may have even read it by now

Blair has gone (to America, hopefully forever, but it's the place to start a war) and Brown will follow on or go somewhere else, but certainly NOT stay in the UQ (aka UK) Ltd, but maybe Scotland. Brown’s masters should be ecstatic with the result. The country in the worst state it has ever been with public spending maximised to £700 billions over the next 5 years and its reputation reduced to the farcical banana republic status as its legacy for the British people. It's very important not to forget some of Blair's less attractive and contentious activities: sale of honours, Saudi Arabian arms dealings, Iraq war.
