Bad Reporting

Original posting, August 2006

Three men have been sentenced to seven years detention for a drunken attack that left a 62-year-old man permanently brain damaged. Arran McArthur (20), Dwayne Arnold (23) and Stephen Stubbs (18) had admitted assaulting Anthony Rhodes on January 14 (2006) as he drove home. What this report does not say:

the total between them is 7 years
or is it 7 years each?

Probably, the total between all three (maybe - DA).
Dreadful reporting. Or deliberately hiding/disguising the true story? Presumably, these three low-lifes (beneath a maggot - DA) stopped the car first. Maybe they stood out in the road and Mr. Rhodes did the decent thing and stopped. And didn't run them down.

"Life" like these should have been excused the pain of an existence
and lowered down the nearest drain at birth.

But, it was only an assault caused through drink, guv.

That makes it all OK, then
